Dreary, cold weather and the holidays are just a few of the things that can keep buyers away. Every year, about this time, I get the same question...."Do people buy homes during the holidays?"
My response - yes.
Who, they ask? It is always the same, in my cases anyway, folks who need to move. Folks who are changing jobs like to do it over the holidays so the kids can start school in January. Some buyers are "snowbirds" who have just come for a visit in the Viera area and decided they want to stay! Regardless, buyers shopping during the holiday period are usually serious!
However, selling during the holidays is a challenge. So, if you are considering selling as the year winds down I say do these things:
- Get yourself a great real estate agent
- Improve your curb appeal
- De-clutter and have your home staged [if you are going to have a Christmas tree, keep it reasonably sized!]
- Price your home right
- Be flexible with showings!
