Brevard County foreclosure filings remain high

This morning's Florida Today business section had several front page articles. Not a lot of good news on the business pages these days, regardless of which paper you read!

According to the article there were 827 foreclosure filings in October 2008. This was down from the 850 in September but still the number is the third highest monthly number for Brevard County. There have been over 7,800 filings in Brevard this year. [I wonder how many have actually been foreclosed? Check that out.]

Not all foreclosure filings end up in a foreclosure proceeding. The lenders usually file the notice after three months of non-payment. The discussion on the CNBC television network centered on the bailout of GM but the foreclosure problem remains high on the list.
