Real Estate Price Reductions – Trickery or Marketing Genius?

I have seen some homes on the market in the Viera and Suntree areas of Brevard County Florida for years.  The usual culprit is the price is not consistent with location or condition (or both). 

I review the Brevard County Florida MLS listings every day (called the hot sheet) for changes in prices, new listings, etc.  Sometimes I notice where the selelr's real estate agent raises the price a hundred bucks today, lowers it a hundred bucks tomorrow, and repeat ad nauseam!

Is the purpose of these reductions to sell or what?  The purpose is to get attention. 

Pricing tactics like these tells me one thing - either the real estate agent is about to lose the listing and is desperate or the seller is! 

As a seller you want to get real attention from the real estate agents who will bring your buyer to your door?  Have your real estate agent price the property appropriately and see what happens!
