Choosing Your Real Estate Agent: One who is willing to tell you what you NEED to hear is more important than one who tells you what you WANT to hear!

If your circumstances necessitate selling your Brevard County Florida house or condo, you have several choices available.  Some choose to sell it as a For Sale By Owner (FSBO) which works well for a very few.

But, if you are like the overwhelming majority of sellers, you will call a couple of real estate agents in Brevard County to interview.  Actually the National Association of Realtors' latest survey of home buyers and sellers states that somewhere over 60% of sellers interview one real estate agent which is unbelievable!

They all have their “own” pitches that usually end with "Hire me" or "Let's get started!"  I say you ask the hard questions before choosing.

The hard questions include:
  • What has sold in my neighborhood (area, similar communities, street, etc)?
  • What has not sold in my neighborhood (active, how long, price, withdrawn)?
  • Why did these properties sell or not sell?
Not every property that is “for sale” or has “sold” is equal.

The circumstances surrounding every real estate listing can vary widely and thus the pricing may be based upon very different goals.  But the reality is most buyers see the price and care little about pricing reasons or seller goals!

As a seller, especially in a buyers market such as Brevard County, you need must have a real estate agent who knows what has moved and what is not moving and, most importantly, has the plan to move your property!

The most powerful information you can take into the process of selling your Brevard County, Florida Home is what is (the positive)  and what is not (the negative) selling.  From that vantage point you can have the confidence your chosen real estate agent will sell your house! [Actually, your house will sell itself...but that is another topic.]

For information on what is and is not selling in your neighborhood, give me a call or drop an email. To know the competition is to have the tools to succeed.

To have a real estate agent who is willing to tell you what you need to hear is more important than one who tells you what you want to hear!
