The Early Returns: Brevard County Florida Real Estate Activity October 2010

Tomorrow is election day in the United States. What will the voters decide?

Today is November 1, 2010.  What did the buyers decide last month about the Brevard County, Florida  real estate market?

Here are the early returns in Brevard County, Florida...
  • Total Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units on Market:  6,596
  • Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units Sold October 2010: 527
  • Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units Sold September 2010:  696
  • Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units Listed in October 2010:   963
  • Short Sale Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units Sold October 2010:  88
  • Short Sale Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units Sold September 2010:  141
  • Foreclosure Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units Sold October 2010:  136
  • Foreclosure Residential, Condo and Townhouse Units Sold September 2010:  251
These are preliminary numbers which will certainly change as end of the month sales data is entered into the system.  The number that sticks out to me the most is the drop in foreclosed properties sold in October. This can probably be attributed to the freeze in foreclosure proceedings earlier in the month.

These preliminary numbers will be updated over the next week and are based only on the data in the MLS system this morning.
