As I started writing this I thought of the many old ways of marketing real estate.
In the "old days," before I was a real estate agent, they had paper – lots of it. Paper listings to review with buyers. Papers to advertise – yes, newspapers. They had signs out front. Most of the buyers read the ads or saw the sign or just walked in the real estate office’s front door.
Times have changed.
Most buyers (and seller clients) come from the Internet. Some still arrive the old fashioned way although many offices have gotten away from the traditional office store. With Century 21 Baytree Realty I use a lot of the new marketing techniques (social marketing) as well as the old although the old has a "different degree" of usefulness.
- I still put that sign out front as many folks drive around and look at the neighborhoods – especially when new to the area.
- I still place an occasional ad in publications.
- I still do old fashioned open houses.
- I still make phone calls although not cold calling.
And, I blog a lot. That is, I write lots of articles that get buyer and seller attention - you found me on the Interenet, right? They also routinely get re-printed by the local newspaper (Florida Today) in the Sunday real estate section. These sites include the likes of

- Brevard County Real Estate Information,
- Florida Homes and Condos for Sale,
- and a few other places!
