As I was working on the listing input into several of my web sites today I thought about how sellers choose their real estate agent.
- Many just look at who has the most for sale signs.
- Some turn to the company that has an office in the immediate vicinity.
- Most do an Internet search.
- Some even ask a friend or co-worker.
However, when you do get around to interviewing your prospective agents, I recommend you ask this question in particular – “How many of your listings have sold?”
The reason is simple – “how many listing have you had (or have)? – is not an indicator of success in selling.
Some agents, including myself, have fewer homes for sale at any given time because they are selective of the homes they market. Marketing a home in the current real estate market entails work and expense.
