If they want to sell they will make reasonable accommodation of buyer prospect showing requests. (Can’t sell it, if buyer can’t see it.)
Goals take all form. Some are trying to dispose of a property they can no longer afford due to hardship and thus are seeking a short sale solution. Some are “move up” buyers looking to get what they can and buy more house for the money while prices are low (more importantly while interest rates are low).
Ultimately the seller’s goal and motivation set the tone for the effort. And it is up to their real estate agent to make it happen!
