Florida Home Buyer Tips: If you are a committed buyer then you want an Exclusive Buyer Brokerage Agreement

Real estate agents are usually paid by the seller whether they are the listing agent or the buyer’s agent.   Often, first time home buyers are unsure of who pays a real estate agent and will call the real estate agent whose name appears on the sign out front of the home.

First of all, in Floridathe listing agent works for the seller – not the buyer.

So, as a buyer, when you choose your real estate agent you may be asked to sign an Exclusive Buyer Brokerage Agreement.

Some key points of the Florida Association of Realtors® Buyer Brokerage Agreement:
  • Buyer agrees conduct all negotiations and efforts to locate property only through the Broker.
  • Buyer will advise sellers or seller agents they are working exclusively with another Broker.
  • Buyer agrees to provides Broker with accurate personal and financial information.
Key point  – Your real estate agent works for free until a transaction closes.   As a real estate agent who works with buyers in Brevard County, Florida, I give 100% to my clients and appreciate a reciprocal relationship.  This can be sealed by an Exclusive Buyer Brokerage arrangement.
