How do real estate agent gets paid?

Many real estate buyers, especially first time home buyers, are unaware of who pays their real estate agent when they buy a home.  The reality is buyers do not pay the real estate agent.

Real estate is one of those jobs where many times the real estate agent never gets paid for their time or efforts.

It is for that reason I have a few of the rules I employ when working with buyers and sellers in Brevard County, Florida…
  1. As a Realtor® to spend my time working with buyers who can't buy is a complete waste of time – theirs and mine! [Interpretation - get pre-approved for a mortgage first.]
  2. As a Realtor® to spend my time listing a house for sellers who are not motivated to sell is a complete waste of my time. [Marketing requires a monetary investment by me to list a home.  If I can't sell it, why not spend my money on greens fees at Duran Golf Course?]
  3. As a Realtor® working with buyers and sellers in Brevard County, Florida, I do not make anything unless a transaction happenseither I help you buy or sell or I don’t eat.
