How to Choose Your Brevard County Florida Real Estate Agent

I exchanged emails with an out of town lead this past week who sent an inquiry regarding one of our listings.  I always ask if someone is working with another real estate agent so as not to interfere with an existing relationship.

His response was he always works with the listing agent.   My initial response to myself was "Why?"

There are many ways of choosing a real estate agent but the name on the listing is not on my preferred list.   The name on the sign is the person who represents the seller - not a buyer.

I always make it a point ask how someone "found" me.  The answers have varied quite a bit.

One recently called me because I was a graduate of The George Washington University.  Some because I am a retired U. S. Navy officer.  Most call me because they read my blogs like this one and Florida Homes and Condos for Sale.  Some call me because I am a Century 21 real estate agent in Viera.   Many call me because of a personal referral from a past client.   In my case the  reasons are many and the above is just a small example.

The real reason you should select a real estate agent is because of LOCAL KNOWLEDGE.

For me, I like to know the local schools, where the parks are, who some of the health care providers are, where to go shopping, which vets are nearby…. hyper-local information.

Your real estate agent should not need a GPS to find the homes you are looking at!
