Real estate agents who do not answer their cell phones or respond to email inquiries about their listings. It is frustrating when I have buyers who want to look at your home and no one answers the phone!
So, if you are considering selling your house or condo, do this one thing first before interviewing a single real estate agent.
Choose a real estate agent you would like to interview and call them.
I understand that many times we are busy when the phone rings like when we are showing homes at the moment or reviewing an offer or listing agreement with a client so the call goes to voice mail. That is the nature of the business.
I suggest you leave a message that is benign - like a question about the local market conditions. [Any agent will jump through hoops if it is a “I want to list call.!”]
Now, how that real estate agent responds to your call will tell you a lot.
I am generous when I call and leave a message. I expect a response within 30 minutes or less. As a consumer you should as well.
