When buyers see the same phrase something else comes to mind - upgrades, the very best of appliances, the best home in the neighborhood.
In my experience both of these could be correct.
If you are selling your home and it was at one time a model home this could be a great marketing angle. If your home is more than a few years and has been updated, you should definitely talk up its model home past.
If your home was a model home twenty-something years ago its model home past may not be a top selling point unless it has been made current.
Some of the trends that were in demand 15-20 years ago are now viewed only as "old." These are especially true in kitchens and bathrooms. Think about wallpaper of the past. I am aware some things come back in style -eventually. (Still waiting on the 1970s leisure suits to return!)
This goes for all older homes whether they were models or no...
Buyers expect updated homes regardless of age and if it is not updated they expect the list price to reflect the needed updating.
